Call for Papers
The 13th International Symposium on Topics in Coding* will be held from Monday August 18th to Friday August 22, 2025, on the UCLA campus in Los Angeles, California, USA. The symposium will be an opportunity to acquire a broad overview of the current status of advanced research in all areas of coding theory and its applications. All original contributions will be considered, in both theoretical and applied fields. Topics for submission include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coding for error detection and correction (aka “channel coding”)
- Coding for wireless and optical communications
- Coding for storage and computation
- Coding for future communication standards (6G, WLAN, optical)
- Turbo, LDPC, polar, staircase, and other code families
- Coded modulation and shaping
- Iterative detection and decoding
- Code design for short block lengths
- Short-packet communications and joint detection and decoding
- Multi-access/multi-user coding techniques
- Hardware and software implementations for high-throughput
- Performance bounds
- Quantum error correction
- Machine learning applied to channel coding
- Coding for feedback channels
- Coding for multiple access channels
- Coding for broadcast channels
In addition, papers that broaden the reach of coding, including emerging fields and novel applications of coding, are encouraged. The symposium will include regular papers for oral and poster sessions as well as invited papers. Accepted and presented papers/posters will appear in the symposium proceedings and in IEEEXplore.
